Margaret Geller
Life: Margaret Geller was born in Ithaca, New York, on December 8th, 1947. Her parents were Seymour Geller and Sarah Levine Geller. Margaret received her bachelor degree from the University of California in 1970, and both her masters and P.h. D. from Princeton University. She joined the permanent staff of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in 1983.
Accomplishments: Margaret is best known for being a pioneer in mapping the nearby universe. He maps made a new view in the gigantic patterns in the distribution of the galaxies like the Milky Way. Margaret's main research topics are mapping the universe, clusters and galaxies nearby our galaxy.
