Steven Sasson
Steven Sasson was born on July 4, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. Steven Sasson was the inventor of the first digital camera. He is still alive today at the age 63. His invention began in 1975.
The first ever digital camera was invented by Steven Sasson. The camera had weighed about 8 pounds, and only had .01 megapixels.
Steven Sasson graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Electrical Engineering in 1972. He received a Bachelor of Science and a Masters In Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. After he had graduated in 1972, the next year 1973 Sasson had joined the Eastman Kodak Company. There he had started his invention in the Kodak Digital Camera in 1975.

During the 1980's Steven Sasson also served as a group leader for a number of digital imaging projects in the consumer products advanced development area. On November 7, 2009 the US president awarded Steven Sasson the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
