Carl Linnaeus
His Life
Carolus was born in Sweden to a Lutheran minister but made his dad mad because he showed no interest in priesthood. He went to college at the University of Lund in 1727 because he wanted to study medicine. His parents were excited for him but he transferred to University of Uppsala the next year to study botany. Carolus earned a medical degree at the University of Harderwijk in the Netherlands. He then wanted to get a further education so he went to the University of Leiden.
Accomplishments
One accomplishment Linnaeus had was his first edition of classifying things. It was "Systema Naturae" in 1735. He organized and gave names to the entire natural world.
Another accomplishment he had was that he went to 4 colleges. He learned something different at each of them.
Also, he accomplished publishing more than 1 thing. He published 4. The first one was "Systema Naturae." The second one was "Species Plantarum." Next was "Genera Plantarum" and the last one was "Philosophia Botanica."

Page created by Allison D - from Wisconsin. I picked Carl Linnaeus because he was the first person to classify things and he went to 4 different colleges. I love sports.
