Henry Ford had many major accomplishments in his life time. For one he invented the model T auto mobile, which was the first common car affordable for the average person. Not only that, but to make his model T so affordable he needed to make them in less time because time is money; so he invented the assembly line which is still used today. The last major accomplishment he made, might still be the most important. Like many great Americans that started their own businesses before him, like Rockefeller and Carnegie before him.; but Ford did it differently, he was so successful in is company and he even did it without starting a monopoly.
Life StoryHenry Ford was born on July 30th, 1863 and and later died on April 7th, 1947. When Ford was growing up he had always had an interest in automobiles as they were first being invent and becoming more popular. In 1891 Ford started his career in the automobile business by becoming an engineer for the Edison Illuminating Company. Later in his time at Edison he became the Chief Engineer in 1893 which gave him more time to develop his own experiences with working on gas engines. Three year later in 1896 he concluded his experiments and came out with a self-propelled vehicle called the Ford Quadricycal. Over the next seven years Ford kept coming out with new automobiles but none of them were a major success. Then in 1903 the Ford Motor Company was made. Five years later in 1908 Ford came out with the Model T; the first automobile affordable for the common man. He made it so affordable by using his invention called the assembly line, where instead of one person building each car separately, every person was responsible for one part of the car and then they would pass their work onto the next person and so on. Ford also paid each worker five dollars a day, which was actually a lot back then. Ford and his company were now the most successful automobile company in America. They continued to produce new cars throughout Ford's Life. On April 7th, 1947 Henry Ford died from a cerebral hemorrhage; though many, many year have passed the Ford company still runs strong and is arguably still the best car company.
