Sarah Blaffer Hrdy

Sarah Blaffer  was born on a warm day in Dallas, Texas, the home of the Cowboy's. That day was July 11, 1946. She then moved to Houston and went to a regular school, St. John's School. She lived there through out her childhood life till 18 of course. She then went to many different colleges like Stanford but was disappointed with it.  She then went to Harvard in 1920 for other courses. Learning at Harvard made her more interested in  primatology and her book, The Langurs of Abu comes out sometime in the early 70's and then in 1977 the sequel came out The Langurs of Abu: Female and Male Strategies of Reproduction. After studying at Harvard for a while she met Daniel Hrdy, little did she now will be her future husband and will have the last name Hrdy. Sarah and Daniel got married in 1972. Together, they had three kids starting off with daughter Katrinka, 1976. Their second daughter was born a WEEK before Sarah had a big presentation at Cornell University.  Their third, final, and only boy was Niko Hrdy, born in 1986.  Her third book, The Women That Never Evolved, came out in 1982. 17 years later, she has another hit book called Mother Nature.  Now-a-days she talks about her older books and is still writing science books on primates.

Page created by Alexis J. - I wanted to study Sarah Blaffer Hrdy because I wanted to do biologists because I love animals and learning more about animals and how they are similar to us. I like to play sports, mainly volleyball and softball, and I love to hunt deer or any game.
