Howard Carter is one of the two men that discovered King Tut's Tomb. He had help from his partner Lord Carnarvon. He started working in Egypt at the age of 17. Eight years later (1899) he was appointed the Inspector-General of Monuments. Carter the resigned from the job in 1905 and in 1907 Carter went to work for Lord Carnarvon. On the morning of November 25th the door to the tomb was removed. Carter could tell that tomb robbers had dug a hole through the upper left section of the passageway. The robbers refilled the hole in the ceiling with a darker rock. This meant that robbers had robbed the tomb twice.
Carter and his crew went into the tomb. If there was anything left inside, it would be a discovery of a lifetime for Carter. A passage from Carter's journal explains what they found.
