Otto Hahn
Otto Hahn was born March 8th 1879 Frankfurt Main. In 1897 he started studying chemistry in Marburg and Munich, He took his doctorate examination in 1901. He worked for Sir WIlliam Ramsay in Autumn 1904 until the following summer, while he was working he found a radioactive substance called radiothorium. On his return back to Europe he moved to the chemical institute in Berlin, he also discovered mesothorium there. Towards the end of 1907 Dr. Lise Meitner came to Berlin to collaborate with Otto that lasted more than 30 years. He joined the world war in 1914-1918, but resumed work after that. His big discovery came in 1938 when he was working with Dr. Strassmann fission of uranium and thorium in medium heavy atomic nuclei. Otto Hahn got married in 1913 they had one son that died in 1960 y accident, Otto Hahn died on July 28, 1968.
